For the Extreme Heat Warning today, dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 110 expected. For the Heat Advisory tomorrow, temperatures up to 105 expected.

In Oklahoma, Beaver and Texas Counties. In Texas, Hansford, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Roberts, and Sherman Counties.
When
For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 10 PM CDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 10 PM this evening to 10 PM CDT Tuesday.
Impacts
Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.
What to Do
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

An Extreme Heat Warning means that extremely dangerous heat conditions are happening now or soon. You must take precautions to protect yourself and others from extreme heat.
- Stay inside in air conditioning if possible. If you don’t have air conditioning, go to a library, mall, or local cooling center.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, and wear loose, light-colored clothing.
- Check on friends, family, and neighbors, especially those who do not have air conditioning or spend much of their time alone.
- Reschedule outdoor activities for a cooler day.
- If you must be outdoors, take longer and more frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and avoid the hottest parts of the day.
- Bring pets indoors if possible. If pets are left outside, make sure they have shade and plenty of cool water.
- Make sure you know the signs of heat-related illness and how to respond.

Very Hot Temperatures Continue Today

The heat wave continues across the panhandles today. This will see the highs once again go into the triple digits with the hotter spots breaching 110s. The heat risk remains major to extreme across the panhandles. Prolonged heat can compound so be sure to stay hydrated and cool. DO NOT leave people or pets in unattended vehicles as the heat inside can quickly become deadly.
