Upper level high pressure will meander near the region today before crossing overhead Saturday. A few weak coastal showers may develop this afternoon. Afternoon highs in the 90s combined with very humid conditions will drive heat indices into the 100 to 105°F range through Saturday and early daytime Sunday. Several rounds of widespread tropical rains are expected from Sunday to Wednesday helping to break this prolonged heatwave. Flood risk will increase each day from Sun - Tues as widespread totals 3 to 5 inches will be possible over that time.
