Impacts
At 40.0 feet, Significant flooding reaches miles from the main channel, flooding homes in the flood plain near Three Rivers to Lake Corpus Christi. Up to 4 feet of water is in River Creek Acres Subdivision, flooding several homes. Kellner Camp along County Road 336 floods, with water several feet deep surrounding homes. Antelope Lane is flooded cutting off access to J.I. Hailey Subdivision at Jones River bend. Water approaches the base of homes along the river in Buckeye Knoll Subdivision, 2 miles west of Swinny Switch.

- At 1:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 4.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Wednesday morning and continue rising to 40.4 feet early Friday afternoon. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 40.6 feet on 07/11/2007. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
What to Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A Flood Warning means that dangerous flooding is expected or already happening. Take immediate action to protect yourself and your home.
- If your home is likely to flood, or if authorities tell you to evacuate, do so immediately and move to higher ground.
- Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads.
- Stay away from areas where water levels can rise rapidly, like storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
- If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary.
- Do not go into any room where electrical cords or outlets are under water. Stay out of water that may have electricity in it!
- If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

Nueces River Flooding

The Nueces River at Cotulla continues to fall, but will remain in major flood levels through early this week. Downstream at Tilden, the river has begun rising and is expected to see a significant rise today as the main flood wave arrives. Three rivers will rise gradually to major flood stage this week.
