- Generally moderate to major risk of heat related impacts across South Texas through the period with brief periods of extreme heat risk across the Brush Country during the upcoming week.

Summer-time heat continues. Heat remains the main concern through next week with a moderate to major risk of heat related impacts across S TX, and an increasing risk to extreme impacts at times across the Brush Country. However, conditions will be drier across the western areas, thus heat indices will generally range from 105- 109. Heat advisories may be needed at times during the upcoming week with heat indices of 110-114 across mainly the Coastal Bend and Victoria Crossroads where the afternoon humidity will be highest.

The mid/upper level high pressure system leading to the increased heat risks will also lead to very low to nil rain chances. Models do indicate a couple of weak inverted troughs/easterly waves through the period, thus can not rule out a few weak showers, mainly morning streamer showers along the coast and along the afternoon sea breeze. Rain chances are generally 0-15% through the period.

Tonight expect VSBYs to drop to IFR at ALI and MVFR for VCT. Could possibly drop further down to LIFR at ALI for CIGs/VSBYs but am not confident enough to include in TAFs. VFR conditions to return by late morning along with typical diurnal winds with gusts to 20-25KT starting in the afternoon.

Gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) onshore flow will become moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) at times, mainly south of Port Aransas. Expect seas generally 2-4 feet through the upcoming week.
