Summer Heat and Storms This Weekend

An unsettled summer weather pattern looks to move into the area by later this weekend. Ahead of a late-season cold front, temperatures in the mid and upper-90s along with high humidity will result in widespread afternoon feels like temperatures ranging from 100° to 105°. By late Sunday, the cold front will approach our area from the north helping scattered thunderstorms to develop across portions of North Texas and Oklahoma. We will have to watch storms Sunday Night closely as this set-up will be supportive for strong to severe storms primarily capable of damaging winds. Heading into early next week, additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms will be possible as temperatures drop below average with highs in the 80s.
