The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Missouri

Platte River near Agency affecting Buchanan County.

Platte River At Sharps Station affecting Platte County.

Platte River near Platte City affecting Platte County.

What

Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

Platte River near Agency.

When

Until Monday morning.

Impacts

At 20.0 feet, Low-lying areas east of Agency begin to flood. At 25.0 feet, Flooding begins at the east border of Agency.

- At 7:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 23.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What to Do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

A Flood Warning means that dangerous flooding is expected or already happening. Take immediate action to protect yourself and your home. 

  • If your home is likely to flood, or if authorities tell you to evacuate, do so immediately and move to higher ground. 
  • Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads. 
  • Stay away from areas where water levels can rise rapidly, like storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. 
  • If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary. 
  • Do not go into any room where electrical cords or outlets are under water. Stay out of water that may have electricity in it!
  • If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Missouri

102 River at Rosendale affecting Andrew and Buchanan Counties.

What

Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

Where

102 River at Rosendale.

When

Until Saturday evening.

Impacts

At 13.0 feet, Lowland agricultural flooding begins. At 18.0 feet, State Route 48 on the east side of Rosendale is overtopped by flood waters. At 19.0 feet, State Route 48 on the east and west sides of Rosendale is under water. At 20.0 feet, State Route 48 is flooded on the east and west sides of town which prevents travel in or out of town.

Severe Storms Possible Saturday

Pleasant weather is expected today with light winds, sunny skies, and low humidity. A cold front will push southeast Saturday. Storms will develop across northern Missouri and northeastern Kansas Saturday afternoon and spread southeast through the evening. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes are possible. Locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding are also possible.
