The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas
Smoky Hill River at Enterprise affecting Dickinson County.
Salt Creek near Ada affecting Ottawa County.
Solomon River near Niles affecting Dickinson, Ottawa and Saline Counties.

Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

Impacts
At 19.0 feet, Water begins to overflow into the low portion of a cultivated field on the right bank, upstream, adjacent to the gage site. At 23.0 feet, Rural overflow begins around the community of Niles. At 24.0 feet, Low land flooding continues along the river. At 27.0 feet, Arrowhead Road west of Niles floods.
Additional Details
- At 8:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 26.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling to 11.2 feet Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
What to Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

- If your home is likely to flood, or if authorities tell you to evacuate, do so immediately and move to higher ground.
- Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads.
- Stay away from areas where water levels can rise rapidly, like storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
- If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary.
- Do not go into any room where electrical cords or outlets are under water. Stay out of water that may have electricity in it!
- If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

Severe Storm Outlook Through 9 PM: Numerous storms will rapidly develop along a southeastward moving cold front in southeast Kansas. These storms will drift to the east/southeast through 9 PM. The strongest storms may produce wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph, large hail half-dollar size, and locally heavy rain in southeast Kansas.
