Weather Story
Created by the NWS Grand Junction WFO
Today will be slightly cooler with the increased cloud cover, and the scattered showers and thunderstorms favoring the central and southern Colorado mountains along the Continental Divide. Look for isolated showers and thunderstorms possible over the higher terrain west of the Divide. These storms won’t produce much rain as most of the rain will evaporate before reaching the ground producing gusty outflow winds. It is getting to be that time of year when frequent afternoon thunderstorms are the norm, and today will be just a taste of that. Stay alert and seek shelter from the lightning. When thunder roars, go indoors.
