FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 229 AND 230

Timing

For the Red Flag Warning, from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM MDT this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Friday afternoon through Friday evening.

Winds

For Thursday, east to southeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. For Friday, west to southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Relative Humidity

As low as 9 percent.

Impacts

Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

Another day of very dry air and strong winds of 30-40mph are expected today. Areas in the boxes are at the most risk for fire starts. Red Flag Warnings are issued for these areas through the evening. Hot, dry, and windy conditions are likely outside of the red boxes as well. Do what you can to minimize the threat of wildfire starts for the area today!
