Weather Story
Created by the NWS Grand Junction WFO
A hot week is ahead as temperatures remain well above normal. Triple digit heat is possible in some lower desert valley locations each day this week. This heat will mix with monsoonal moisture recycling through the heat dome aloft and lead to a daily afternoon and evening thunderstorm threat. Beneficial rain is welcome with these storms but this will come at a cost if storms move over recent burn scars. Debris flows and flash flooding has already been reported on many of these features and this is likely to continue through the week.
