Thurston, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, and Platte Counties.

From noon to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.

Winds

South 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Relative Humidity

As low as 20 percent.

Impacts

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

What to do

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Extreme Fire Weather Expected Today

Gusty south winds and dry conditions will lead to very high to extreme fire weather conditions for northern Nebraska this afternoon. A Red Flag Warning will be in effect from Noon to 8pm. Areas outside the warning can expect elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions this afternoon and evening.
