Click/tap image to enlarge | Scattered to numerous showers and lightning storms are again expected from the early afternoon into the evening. Activity will push inland with the east coast sea breeze, faster to the north thanks to outflow from storms over the Atlantic waters to the northeast, and slower to the south. Primary storm hazards are frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall that could produce a quick 1 to 3 inches (and a very low chance for more), and wind gusts up to 50 mph. Temperatures are seasonably warm in the upper 80s to around 90, with peak afternoon heat indices in the upper 90s to around 100. A Moderate risk of rip currents continues at the beaches. Always swim near a lifeguard, and never swim alone.
