Continued Heat and Afternoon Storms

Created by the NWS Rapid City WFO

Highs in the mid to upper 90s will continue through the week for most of western South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming. Subtle impulses in the upper-level flow will support thunderstorms most days this week, primarily forming in northeastern Wyoming and over the Black Hills. Storms that do will primarily be capable of strong gusty winds, but the strongest storms may produce small hail. East coast wildfire smoke has also moved its way into our area, creating hazy skies until it moves out. Impacts to visibility are not expected.
