Storm System Sunday into Monday

5AM 10/31 - Here's a look at the weather and wind timeline for the next storm system expected to move through the area Sunday through Monday. This is a large and complex but disorganized storm system. The first round of precipitation Sunday into Sunday evening will be mainly rain, with snow levels around 9,000 to 10,000 ft. This round is expected to be focused in Carbon, Albany, and Converse counties, though spottier showers may spill east of there. After a lull Sunday night, showers will re-develop during the day Monday. This will be accompanied by cooler temperatures and strong, gusty northwest winds over much of the area. Snow may mix in with rain showers down to about 5000 ft, but there is high uncertainty in the snow potential. In the second round, the best potential for higher liquid precipitation totals is along the US-20 corridor from Douglas to Chadron. Precipitation is expected to end Monday night, through breezy to windy conditions will continue into Tuesday.
