Additional Details
Some showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday may provide local relief from the heat, but it will remain very humid. It will then turn much less humid this weekend in the wake of a cold front, but temperatures will remain above normal.
What to Do
Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Review heat safety and preparedness information at weather.gov/safety/heat.
Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate water and shelter from the sun.
Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK.

Tips to Stay Safe
A Heat Advisory means dangerous heat conditions are happening now or soon. Take action before, during and after the heat to stay safe.
- Stay in air-conditioned spaces if possible. Find cooling centers or places with AC in your community that you can go to, like libraries or shopping malls.
- Stay hydrated and stock up on clean drinking water to get you through multiple days of heat.
- Reschedule outdoor activities for cooler times of the day, and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
- Cover windows with curtains or shades, or use window reflectors designed to reflect heat back outside.
- Check on friends, family, and neighbors, especially those who do not have air conditioning or spend much of their time alone.
Make sure you know the signs of heat-related illness and how to respond.

A repeat of scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening, with greater potential for strong-to-severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds will be the main hazard; however, cannot rule out large hail and an isolated tornado across eastern Pennsylvania.
