High risk of rip currents expected.

Where

In Ohio, Lake County and Ashtabula County lakeshore. In Pennsylvania, northern Erie County.

When

From late tonight through Friday afternoon.

Impacts

Wind and wave action will cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake.

What to Do

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

Your area may see dangerous swimming conditions. Use caution: 

  • Stay off of rocks and jetties due to dangerous conditions
  • Stay out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions, and stay near occupied lifeguard towers 
  • Keep small children in sight and within arm’s reach at all times.
