At 110 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles northeast of Randleman, moving south at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include... Greensboro, Asheboro, Randleman, North Carolina Zoo, Siler City, Pleasant Garden, Liberty, Ramseur, Franklinville, and Staley.
This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 near Mile Marker 35, and between Mile Markers 122 and 126. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 218 and 219. Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 64 and 68, near Mile Marker 72, and between Mile Markers 75 and 95.
