Excessive Rain Risk Sunday

Widespread rainfall will bring rainfall amounts between one half and 2 inches across much of western NM. Localized areas could see over 3 inches of rainfall, especially in favored upslope areas such as the Tusas Mountains near Chama. Saturated soils from the previous flood event will allow for increased runoff. Even persistent light to moderate rainfall could cause flooding. River rises are expected, but rises are currently expected to stay below flood stage. However, if higher end rain amounts fall, minor flooding could occur.
