Very Warm Thursday, Showers Through the Weekend

Created by the NWS Caribou WFO

Get ready for a very warm and increasingly muggy Thursday! High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and to low 90s for many inland areas today, while coastal communities will stay comfortably cooler in the 60s and 70s thanks to a refreshing seabreeze. We are tracking chances for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms today, primarily across northern and western areas, with more widespread rain expected as we head into the weekend. Keep an eye out for morning fog, which could be dense at times, continuing into the weekend. Find your latest forecast here: www.weather.gov/car

Created by the NWS Gray WFO

Hot and humid conditions persist into Friday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoons. Highs in the 80s to low to mid 90s combined with the high humidity will pose a heat risk through Friday. A cold front crosses late Friday into Saturday morning bringer higher chances for showers and storms Friday evening with a few strong to severe storms possible. Behind the front, some relief to the humidity is likely over the weekend. Another cold front crosses late Sunday bringing a cooler airmass into next week.
