Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where
Portions of north central and northeast Kansas, including the following counties, in north central Kansas, Clay and Washington. In northeast Kansas, Brown, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie and Riley.
When
From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.
Impacts
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details
- Thunderstorms are forecast to have access to abundant moisture and could redevelop and move over the same locations multiple times. By Wednesday afternoon, some locations could end up with around 3 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible.

Showers and storms will develop along a cold front today and tonight. Some of the storms may be strong to severe across northeast, east-central, and central KS. The primary hazards will be damaging wind gusts, small hail, and heavy rainfall. The chances for heavy rainfall will increase tonight and last into Wednesday morning. The heaviest rain will be located across northeast KS, where over 2 inches of rain are forecasted to fall. An upper-level disturbance and cold front will bring another chance for showers and thunderstorms late Friday afternoon through Saturday.
