Showers will move east through the area through early afternoon. A few thunderstorms over northwest Iowa are possible and may produce small hail and gusty winds. Additional showers and storms are possible north of I-90 this afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, but brief heavy downpours and gusty winds may accompany storms. After a brief warm-up Friday, cooler highs in the 70s to lower 80s will persist into the early part of next week. In addition, low relative humidity will make this weekend ideal for outdoor activities. A few thunderstorms are possible Saturday morning mainly over northwest Iowa. At this time severe risks are low.
