Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
Wabash River at Montezuma.
.Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall in the Wabash basin are bringing minor lowland flooding to middle and lower portions of the Wabash River. The Wabash is expected to crest at Montezuma Saturday morning, with the crest reaching Riverton early next week.

Impacts
At 18.0 feet, Seep water occurs behind levees on Indiana side. Hutson Creek begins to overflow from backwater. Old Darwin Road and a few rural roads in eastern Clark and Crawford counties in Illinois are impassable. Low agricultural land floods.

What to Do
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

- If your home is likely to flood, or if authorities tell you to evacuate, do so immediately and move to higher ground.
- Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads.
- Stay away from areas where water levels can rise rapidly, like storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
- If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary.
- Do not go into any room where electrical cords or outlets are under water. Stay out of water that may have electricity in it!
- If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois.
