Individual thunderstorm cells are expected to develop in the vicinity of the Illinois River around 3-5 pm today. A line of storms will move east-southeast across central Illinois late this afternoon and this evening, likely extending from near Bloomington to Jacksonville by 7 pm. Threats associated with today’s storms include several tornadoes likely, scattered hail up to tennis ball size, widespread wind gusts up to 80 mph likely, and heavy rainfall may produce localized flooding.
