Heat Next Week

Created by the NWS Peachtree City WFO

If you were hoping for some relief from the heat and humidity, we don't have great news. After slightly cooler conditions this weekend, the heat is expected to build across Georgia again early next week. Continue to remember to practice heat safety precautions!

This is an infographic titled "Heat Expected to Increase Next Week" from the National Weather Service in Atlanta, updated Thu Jul 23, 2026. The left side displays tables of "Maximum Temperature (°F) & Maximum Heat Index (°F) Forecast" from Friday 7/24 to Wednesday 7/29 for 18 Georgia cities (including Americus, Athens, Atlanta, Columbus, Macon, Rome, and Vidalia). Values show temperatures rising into the 90s, with heat indices reaching 100–108°F across multiple days. The right side, titled "What’s Going On," notes that after slightly cooler conditions this weekend, heat is expected to build across Georgia again next week, and heat index values are forecast to reach 100-108°F each day. Three safety icons recommend staying hydrated, limiting strenuous time outdoors in the afternoon, and wearing light-weight, light-colored clothing. The bottom bar includes the NWS Atlanta logo and weather.gov/Atlanta.
