Weekend Rainfall Chances

Created by the NWS Hanford WFO

The low that is currently over the PNW is going to push moisture into the Central Valley over the weekend! This'll make for a cloudy Halloween 🧛🎃 and a wet Sunday ☔. Here's the current probabilities of exceeding a quarter of an inch of rain (0.25"). It's a fast moving system, however. Come Monday, ridging will have taken place, hence the abrupt drop in rain chances.

A table against a blue and green gradient background. The main title reads "Weekend rainfall chances" and the subtitle reads "Chance of 24 hour Precipitation Greater Than 0.25 inches." The table has 8 cities within the San Joaquin Valley listed: Bakersfield, Coalinga, Fresno, Hanford, Lake Isabella, Mariposa, Merced, Visalia Muni. The dates range from Friday, October 30 through Tuesday November 3rd. Boxes on the table range in color from white to a dark green. The darker green boxes mean that there is a higher chance for a location to receive a quarter of an inch (0.25") or more within a 24 hour period. The highest chance for locations to receive a quarter of an inch or more of rain is on Sunday, November 1st. Afterwards, the chances drop to near 0.
