Additional Details
Winds have diminished across the area this morning. However, a stronger round of northwest winds is expected to develop by this afternoon. The strongest wind gusts are expected to be from this evening through early Saturday morning before diminishing through the rest of Saturday.

High Wind Warning

Heads up Anchorage and Eagle River! The previously issued Wind Advisory has been updated to a High Wind Warning. Winds will begin increasing early this afternoon and peak between 6 PM this evening and 6 AM early tomorrow morning. Expect southeast winds gusting as high as 60 to 75 mph across the Anchorage and Eagle River Hillsides, particularly for areas above 1,000 ft. Though the most impactful winds will occur at higher elevations, expect some gusty winds to mix down to the lower elevations of South and West Anchorage. #akwx
