A quiet weather pattern is expected to kick off the work week with mostly sunny skies persisting through midweek. Temperatures today will climb into the lower 60s across northeast Iowa, while areas in the southwest will see highs reaching the lower 70s. This warming trend continues Tuesday and Wednesday as breezy conditions develop alongside highs in the 80s. However, the active weather returns on Thursday with a chance for showers and storms, some of which could be strong to severe. We will continue to fine-tune the timing and specific threats as the system approaches later this week.
