Impacts

At 16.0 feet, Water affects much of Barstow Road between Barstow and Osborn. Water also affects homes in Osborn.

Additional Details

- At 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 16.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.2 feet just after midnight tonight, then begin slowly falling reaching 14.0 feet Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

What to do

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
The next statement will be issued Wednesday evening at 830 PM CDT.

A Flood Warning means that dangerous flooding is expected or already happening. Take immediate action to protect yourself and your home. 

  • If your home is likely to flood, or if authorities tell you to evacuate, do so immediately and move to higher ground. 
  • Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters or flooded roads. 
  • Stay away from areas where water levels can rise rapidly, like storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. 
  • If you are trapped in a building, move to the highest floor and call 911. Go to the roof only if necessary. 
  • Do not go into any room where electrical cords or outlets are under water. Stay out of water that may have electricity in it!
  • If your vehicle is trapped in rapidly moving water, stay inside. If water is rising inside the vehicle, move to the roof and signal for help.

Impacts

At 14.0 feet, Major Flood Stage. Water affects South Shore Drive and North Shore Drive in Moline west of the 27th Street bridge. Water limits access to homes on South Shore Drive east of the I-74 bridge. Water also affects portions of 60th Street south of John Deere Road.

- At 7:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 14.1 feet. - The river is cresting now. - Forecast...The river is cresting around 14.1 feet this evening, and will begin to slowly fall overnight. It should fall below 14.0 feet early Wednesday morning. The river will continue to slowly fall to 13.0 feet by Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
