Snow expected above 4000 feet. There is a likelihood of moderate winter weather impacts. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches below 5000 feet, 6 to 10 inches at pass level and over 12 inches in the high terrain.

For MODERATE winter weather impacts, expect disruptions to normal activities. Hazardous traveling conditions. Use extra caution while driving. Closures and disruptions to infrastructure may occur. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes, especially over higher passes.

Lower elevation snow accumulations are most likely Thursday night.

Winter travel over passes Thu - Fri

A cold front passage on Wednesday will bring snow levels down to valley floors across northwest Montana on Thursday night. Winter weather will impact travel over mountain passes on Thursday night into Friday morning. Expect 3 to 6 inches of snow over Lost Trail, Homestake, and MacDonald passes by Friday morning, with slightly less snow over Lookout, Marias, and Lolo passes.
