A frontal system moving through Prince William Sound will bring snow and gusty winds to Thompson Pass and along the Richardson Highway north of Thompson Pass to MP 35 through Monday. Expect the heaviest snow and strongest winds through Sunday night. East to southeast winds may gust up to 30 mph during this time. The combination of snow and gusty winds may reduce visibility to as low as one mile or less at times. Snow showers are expected to persist through Monday along with occasional wind gusts up to 25 mph. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 14 inches are possible through Monday evening.

Anchor River Flood Advisory

A Flood Advisory is in effect until 9 AM Monday for flooding due to ice jams along the Anchor River, downstream of the Sterling Highway and the Anchor River State Recreation Area. Impounding water due to ice jams will cause rapid river rises upstream. Use caution in the vicinity of the Anchor River. At 5:36am, the stage was 15.8 feet. Flood stage is at 15.5 feet. At 16.0 feet, Anchor Pt. Rd. near Old Sterling Hwy floods, 6-8 inches of water. Campground near Old Sterling Hwy floods with water up to a foot deep. #akwx
