WHAT HAS CHANGED

Upgraded the Freeze Watch to a Freeze Warning for tonight.

KEY MESSAGES

1) Below normal temperatures will continue through Monday night before a return to above normal temperatures on Tuesday.

2) Multiple systems will bring showers and some thunderstorms to the region at times through the week.

DISCUSSION

KEY MESSAGE 1) Surface high pressure centered over the southern Great Lakes early this morning will shift off to the east through tonight. This will lead to continued cool temperatures today with afternoon highs only ranging from the lower 50s north to the upper 50s in the south.

Lows tonight will range from the lower 30s in the far northeast to the upper 30s in the southwest. Will go ahead and upgrade the Freeze Watch to a Freeze Warning for tonight across our far northeast. Some patchy frost will be possible elsewhere across our eastern areas but with the potential for winds to pick up a bit later tonight, will limit the mention of frost for now.

We will then start to get into return flow on the back side of the high with temperatures rebounding back into the 70s by Tuesday.

KEY MESSAGE 2) A weak mid level short wave will bring a chance for showers and few thunderstorms to the area on Wednesday. A somewhat stronger short wave will lead to a better chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday into Friday night.

AVIATION /06Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/

Surface high pressure will shift east across the southern Great Lakes through tonight. VFR conditions will prevail during the TAF period.

OUTLOOK....Thunderstorms possible Tuesday night into Wednesday, and then again on Friday. MVFR conditions are possible on Wednesday and Friday.
